CERAC, inc. Signs Distribution Agreement with Vacuum Engineering & Materials Co., Inc. Milwaukee, WI._June 14, 2002– Specialty Inorganics Manufacturer CERAC, inc. has signed an agreement with Santa Clara, CA based Vacuum Engineering & Materials Co., Inc. (VEM) to distribute it’s line of thin film materials on the west coast. In the agreement, effective May 1, 2002, Vacuum Engineering is given rights to service and sell CERAC’s evaporation materials and sputtering targets in the western region of the United States. "This agreement allows us to provide improved face to face service to our growing base of west-coast customers", says E.J. Strother, Marketing & Business Intelligence Specialist at CERAC. "Vacuum Engineering has a great deal of knowledge and experience in the thin film materials industry and our customers will benefit from their strengths." In addition, Vacuum Engineering brings target bonding capabilities closer to CERAC west coast customers, reducing the need to ship backing plates to the CERAC factory for bonding. CERAC, inc. has been manufacturing specialty inorganic chemicals and thin film materials in Milwaukee, WI since 1964. Represented globally by a network of domestic and international sales representatives, CERAC services industries such as precision optics, ophthalmics, semiconductor, laser and display technologies with standard and custom manufactured materials. Vacuum Engineering and Materials is a manufacturer, stocking distributor of metal, metal-alloy, intermetallic and inorganic compound evaporation sources, and sputtering targets for thin film deposition. VEM performs 1 to 2 day turnaround for bonding of targets. VEM maintains a large finished goods inventory of CERAC inorganic oxides, fluorides, and intermetallics for next day shipment.
